Dr. Peter Brennan is Managing Director of EPS Consulting; a public affairs and public policy consultancy that has completed over 350 projects over the past ten years for Government, the Oireachtas, State Agencies, Local Government, the European Commission, business and trade associations and private clients. Peter is also joint owner of Bid Management Services (www.bidmanagement.ie) which assists private companies produce bid documents and also advises public bodies on public procurement. He was President of Dublin Chamber in 2010 and is a Fellow of the Irish Management Consultants Association. He a founding member of the Public Policy Advisors' Network (www.ppan.ie)
He has a unique mix of public and private sector experience at both national and international level over a 40 year period. In his initial career (until 1986) he worked with the Departments of Industry and Commerce and Foreign Affairs to the level of Principal Officer. This included tours of duty in Ireland's Permanent Representation to the European Union. Prior to joining A&L Goodbody Consulting as its Managing Director in May 2001, Peter was a Director of IBEC and was also Director of the Brussels-based Irish Business Bureau (1986-2001) where he advised IBEC, its policy committees and sectoral associations. He has a B.Sc. in Public Administration from TCD and has completed a doctoral thesis on European policy-making (2009). He is a recognised expert in relation to public capital projects and national and EU policy development. He has spoken at numerous seminars at EU, national and regional level and has been a regular contributor to PR and the media. Peter is also the author of a book entitled Behind Closed Doors: The EU Negotiations That Shaped Modern Ireland and author and co-author of many other books and reports.
